George’s Back Story:
George was a street dog in Big Spring, Texas where our son is going to college. George started visiting my son and his baseball teammates on campus and starting “hanging out with them outside the dorms”. My son and his teammates grew fond of George, and some of them started feeding him.

Eventually, George got picked up by the local animal control and ended up in the kill shelter in Big Springs, Texas. Our son kept up with George’s status at the shelter and hoped that someone would come claim and or adopt him from the shelter. When that didn’t happen, George eventually was put on code red (aka the list to be put down). When our son Ian found out he was on the code red list, he asked us if we could help George. Ian felt George was too good of a dog to be put down. And after meeting George, we wholeheartedly agree! We had our son “adopt” George from the shelter, so that we could try to find him a permanent home.

As you can see, George is always smiling. He is a happy, go lucky, chill dog, but unfortunately, we cannot keep him as we have a dominant male dog, who just wants to fight with George. George, gets along great with our other female dog. Right now, we are having to keep George crated away from our other male dog, which is not fair to George. He is a great dog, who very much deserves a loving home! We believe George to be an Akita mix approximately 3 years old. He is neutered and housebroken. He does great in a crate. He also is up to date on all his shots. We are unsure how George would do with cats, as we do not have any in the house.

We are willing to transport him to his new home at our cost and effort.
