Puppies under 16 weeks need to be gently exposed to other young pups, as well as sights, sounds and smells. A well-run puppy kindergarten class helps with all of these exposures and is a must. It’s very important to take advantage of this short window Between 7 and 16 weeks, because this is when a puppy’s curiosity is greater than his fear. Older dogs who don’t show signs of aggression can benefit from an age-appropriate group class that uses positive reinforcement (“R+”) techniques.
